Productivity in the green transition

We aim to support the food sector in the green transition from farm to fork and to decrease the chemical burden and carbon footprint of cleaning chemicals with our chemical-free technologies. During the EU green transition use of chemical pesticides are to be reduced by 50% until 2030.

With our technologies, we aim to strengthen the productivity of commercial greenhouses and to improve plant health and crop shelf life.

Aqueous ozone decreases microbial growth on different surfaces without leaving any chemical residues behind as ozone is degrading to oxygen in the water. The temporary yet efficient ability of aqueous ozone to eliminate plant pathogens and other impurities opens up various possibilities to improve growing environment hygiene, plant health, and crop shelf life. Due to the residue-free behaviour of aqueous ozone, it is also suitable to be used in organic farming and rinsing organic produce. 


”Aqueous ozone is perfect in support of cultivation. The crop loss of strawberries grown in tunnels decreased from 30 % to less than 3 % since we took aqueous ozone into use. Aqueous ozone is a versatile aid from the early stages of plant growth to finalizing the product:

Growth – Irrigationand spraying the plants with aqueous ozone decreases the amount of “minor pathogens” on plant growth. This keeps the plants healthier and allows them to focus more energy on growth and produce a better crop. In addition, the symptoms of infected plants can be treated. For example, powdery mildew and grey mold that cause crop losses of strawberries can be restrained. Ozonation of water also enriches the water with oxygen that dramatically improves plant health.

Crop – Rinsing or bathing the crop with aqueous ozone decreases the number of spoilage microbes on the products that enables a longer shelflife and improves product safety.

Washes – Antimicrobial washing and rinsing of the greenhouse area can be done with aqueous ozone. Washing and rinsing of growing requisites, processing tables, conveyors, etc. are easily achieved without worries of detergent residues.

Ensuring – By preventing transference of plant pathogens from place to place or from imported seedling to ground, crop losses can be avoided. With aqueous ozone for example seeds, seedlings, tools, and footwear can be sanitized. Running aqueous ozone through the irrigation pipeline removes biofilms from the edges of the pipes and ozonation of irrigation water decrease the number of microbes in the water. Both activities prevent pathogens from entering the plant growth environment.
